Chapter 4: Hometown Hero
(Told in first person by Flynn)

Hey, I'm back. Did you miss me? Sure you did. Anyway, that very same day that Rapunzel got her assignment, I also got an assignment.

I walked into the Battle Dome inn and diner, and went up to the counter where the owner, my best pal Kuzco, was wiping out some empty glasses, and whistling something. He stopped, looked up, and smiled when he saw me. "Well, well, well, look who just walked in, hot off the pod track!" He said, talking to the customers. "Flynn, it is so good to see you. What brings you to the Battle Dome on a day like today?" He asked. "Oh, nothing much, just thought I'd stop by, pick up some lunch, and tell everyone that I made it to gallactics in the universal pod race tournament. No big deal." I answered, smugly. "Oh, man, that is HUGE." He replied, excitedly, "KRONK!!!", he shouted back towards the kitchen. "Kronk, get the racer some food, will ya?" He shouted to the cook. Then he turned back to me. "Seriously, that's awesome, we'll all be cheering for you. AM I RIGHT PEOPLE?!?!" He asked the customers, who replied with a loud cheer. "Thank You, thank you all, you're too kind.", I said, modestly. "Come on, man you're a celebrity, this is how they're supposed to treat you." Kuzco said, "I mean, I sure wish I had a shot at the cash prize. A million Republic credits. That'd be what I need to finally give this place the fix ups it needs." "But hey, why should I ruin the moment? You're going to galacitcs!!!"  He said, as the kitchen door opened, and Kronk came out with a covered tray. "Finally, what took you so long?" Kuzco asked him. "Sorry, hehe, wanted to get it cooked just right." Kronk answered. He lifted the lid, and there was a steak covered in a red sauce. "Wow, I'm surprised at you, Kronk, you actually got something right for once." Kuzco joked. "Looks great, Kronk, I love steak." I told him, digging in. "Thanks, Flynn. I'll be in the kitchen if you need me, Kuzco. Oh, and good luck next week on the quarter finals,Flynn. I'll be rootin' for ya." He added, going back into the kitchen. "Woah, woah, stop the presses, who is THAT?" Kuzco asked, looking towards the door. I turned around, and saw a girl, about my age, with crazy, firey red hair, walk in. She stopped to ask someone a question, when they answered, she looked at me, thanked the person, and walked towards me. "Dude, she's coming over here, what do I say?" Kuzco asked me, panicking. "What do you mean what do you say?  You like her?" I asked him. "Yeah." He answered. "OK, just let me introduce you, I can sweeten the deal." I told him. I turned around, and saw her standing right in front of me. "Are you master Skyrider?" She asked me, in a cute Irish accent. "Why, yes, yes I am. What can I do for ya?" I answered. "I'm Meridohka Tahno, your new Padawan learner. " She answered, bowing respectfully. "Say that again?" I asked her. "I'm your new padawan. Master Mickey himself assigned me to you." She answered. "He also sends a message. We have our first assignment." She added, holding up an envelope with Master Mickey's official seal on it.
